It has been a while since I have done a FF but perhaps that has been due to my
somewhat strict meals and even stricter workout regime.
Alas, I have finally ventured out again and have the foodporn to prove it.
The above? A steak fajita salad from Blue Agave, one of the only things
I order besides the fresh squeezed margharitas that are just amazing.
I had asked for a Diet Coke but received regular instead, it has certainly been some time
since I have ingested something so sugary and from the classic bottle no less.
I love when all else is out of focus with exception to the logo.
Last Friday I had the most exceptional dining experience at Catalyst in Cambridge.
A recap from my Yelp review:
Upon entering, I was immediately impressed by the design,
warmth of the hostess and creative menu.
With
Jack Johnson playing in the background and the restaurants modern/industrial vibe,
we enjoyed our cocktails (mine was named Your Last Night Alone)
Hendricks Gin, Cucumber, St. Germain, Rose
I ordered the Black Truffle
Tortellini with Poached egg while my friend enjoyed the Braised Lamb Shank with creamy
Polenta, porcini, tomato and brown butter braised swiss chard.
We
ended the meal with the Butterscotch and passion fruit pudding with warm
pound cake croutons. The first bite (and each following) was pure
heaven!
I
love that the owners/designers clearly sacrificed potential profit for the comfort
and space of their patrons. You will not have to worry about anyone
overhearing your conversation as each table is blissfully spaced quite a
distance from others.
After, we hopped around a bit - enjoying the fantastic drinks at the ever-incredibly
Cuchi Cuchi (great music, extraordinary decor & drinks - very much a unique
and welcomed international vibe) before popping into Vintage Lounge.
Miscellaneous Morsels:
Otherwise, my meals tend to be chock full of raw elements, lots of color, massive amounts
of flavor. Avocado, vine ripened tomato, blackberries and a bit of Newman's Balsamic.
Happy Hour Mai-Tai's with a co-worker
Delicious little snack to cure a chocolate fix.
Calorie laden dessert a co-workers fiancee sent in with him.
There was a layer of a cream cheese/sugar mix. Enough said.
What has been your favorite meal recently?
p.s. I have something (or shall I say someone) incredibly special
on my blog tomorrow. So excited to share with you all!!!!
