My Wish this Winter
I had such a wonderfully relaxing weekend.
It began with good food, delicious drinks, great company and turned into
a dance party (in the restaurant, during karaoke yes I got up and sang
twice, with ladies from the tables on either side of me.)
I cannot say I have always been as outgoing as I'd like to be. Or fun. Or relaxed.
But I have certainly come a long way and it is amazing to let go sometimes.
Waking up on a Saturday with nothing to do but await the delivery of my
new bed (which never came) and a hair appointment (cancelled.)
petite filet mignon, poached egg, Hollandaise, grilled english muffin
A leisurely brunch in which I clutched my head dramatically (too many
mai tai's what can I say) and did not eat all of the delicious steak
in my Grilled Tenderloin Benedict between countless cups of coffee.
This winter, my favorite things? Stolen kisses at red lights.
Cozy oversized fishermans sweaters, pulling out boxes of decorations
and sitting back contently when your hall is finally decked.
Waking up late and strolling hand in hand to get delicious coffee concoctions
(Snick-A-Doodle anyone?) and monstrous breakfast sandwiches.
My wish this winter? To enjoy each moment, not over-think it all,
continue to follow my dreams, take risks and be thankful always.
How was your weekend?
this is such a sweet post :D

I never thought I could do it but in my mid-twenties I have gained a confidence and lost some of the self-consciousness that previously held me back :)
DeleteNow that's my kind of weekend! Oh how I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall to see you take the stage! Me...not so much! Happy Weekend:)
ReplyDeleteI like that word - "always"....it was one of my favorites as a kid, too. I saw a cool thing on pinterest last week that said something like: "what if you woke up tomorrow with only the things that you thanked God for today?" ...it wasn't a very comforting thought....
